Aluminum pigment powder (PAP-1 and PAP-2). It is mainly used as a pigment for the production of paints.

Aluminum powder is obtained by crushing lump aluminum (primary or remnants of sheet aluminum). Aluminum is subjected to crushing (wet or dry) in special ball mills, with balls of different sizes, until the required particle size is obtained. During dry crushing in an inert gas environment, stearin or paraffin is introduced into the mills to lubricate aluminum and prevent it from sticking together.

Aluminum powder is a finely dispersed aluminum powder. The color of the finely ground metal is silver-grey. The powder is easily smeared, oily to the touch. The hue depends on the amount of impurities in the metal used to produce the aluminum powder. Color close to silver. The shape of the particles is very thin plates (flakes), the thickness of which is 0.25 - 1 micron.
