Mica natural phlogopite. The size of the scales is from 0.1 to 1 mm. Used as a base for pearlescent pigments. Adds shine to any pigment.

Phlogopite, or phlogonite [2] (from the Greek φλογερός - fiery? bright; due to its color [3]) is a mineral of the subclass of layered silicates, magnesian low-iron mica of the biotite-phlogopite isomorphic series. The origin of phlogopite is igneous, metamorphic, metasomatic. Phlogopite is found in ultrabasites, kimberlites and carbonatites, in magnesian skarns and calciphyres.
