Natural alpha-pinene 100 ml

Alpha-pinene is a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. Alpha-pinene is used by those involved in the production of fragrances and solvents for oil paints.

Pinene (from the Latin pine) is the main component of turpentines and essential oils. Purified pinene is used in painting. It forms sulfur compounds with sulfur, which condense into resin. The presence of free sulfur is possible in cadmium paints, realgar, ultramarine, and cinnabar, which can affect the formation of oil paint films containing pinene.

Pinene, by introducing atmospheric oxygen into the oil binder, accelerates drying and acts as a homogenizer, allowing the paint layer to become elastic and harden throughout its entire thickness.
