Watercolor ultramarine violet 3.2 ml

The composition of the watercolor uses finely ground, concentrated pigments and highly purified gum arabic. A high degree of grinding on a ceramic paint grinder gives transparent, pure and saturated colors. Watercolor mixes well, is easily washed and has high lightfastness.

Violet is a spectral color (wavelength range 380 - 440 nm, the minimum for human perception), and lilac is a composite color. Organic or mineral pigments colored in violet or lilac colors are rare in nature.

Synthetic sodium aluminosilicate with the inclusion of sodium polysulfides. Ultramarine, depending on its composition, can be white, pink, green, blue, violet and red. The color characteristics of ultramarine depend on sodium polysulfides. Dark violet glazing pigment. Heat resistance up to 260 ° C. At temperatures above 400°C in the presence of air, an exothermic chemical reaction may occur with the release of sulfur dioxide. Hiding power 140-150 g/m2. Oil absorption 32-37 g/100 g. Density 2.35 g/cm3. pH 6-9. It is used in oil and watercolor. It mixes well with earth pigments.

Violet is prepared from blue ultramarine by the action of ammonium chloride on it at 200°C. It is also possible to obtain it using other technologies - the action of HCl.

Pure ultramarine is alkali-resistant, does not dissolve in ammonia and does not color it, decomposes in all diluted acids, releasing a small amount of hydrogen sulfide and forming a colorless gelatinous compound.

It has a relatively low coloring power. The pigments are insoluble in water and organic solvents, do not migrate in film formers.
